End-Range Strength & Mobility
This series is designed to help you actually use your flexibility in your dancing—by building the strength and control needed to move dynamically through space with proper muscular support. Stronger end-range = more controlled extensions and less reliance on momentum.
Bonus: This exercise also improves ankle mobility by increasing dorsiflexion… double win 😉
💃 For Dancers
Flexibility alone isn’t what creates clean, consistent movement—control does. That’s exactly what end-range strength gives you.
When you train strength at your end range, you’re teaching your body to actively hold and move through positions instead of dropping into them. That shift changes everything! Passive flexibility without strength puts stress on joints and ligaments. Strength at end range shifts the load into your muscles– where it belongs.
✨ Jenna Tid-Bit: These exercises will help you to actually hold your extensions with control. Without strength, high legs rely on momentum or gripping. With end-range control, your hip flexors, glutes, and inner thighs support the position—so your développé feels placed, not thrown. Adagio, extensions, floorwork—everything feels more fluid because you can move through your range, not just hit shapes. Once you feel the difference, you will be hooked! The Harsh Truth: Flexibility gives you the range!
Strength at that range is what makes it usable on stage.
